Our Mission
We aim to create a comfortable space for vegans and nature-minded people. We want to live with our planet and life on it, not fight against it. In the next years we will expand our food forest and vegetable garden. This way we can provide home-grown food for people staying with us.
Our Values
We are a fully vegan household and wish to keep our home animalproduct-free. We do our best to be as sustainable as possible, within our means. We are not neutral, we stand up for what we believe in and fight for animal (including human) rights.
The house
We bought the house in the winter of 2024 and moved in february 2025. The house was built in 1774 and has been updated over the years. The house has the name ‘il colle’, which can be found on maps of the area. Over the next months and years we will renovate the house so it can be more energy-efficient. We are not connected to the main water or gas and don’t want to be. We plan to install solar panels this year so we can start producing our own energy. Drinking water (taps) can be found for free in the nearby villages and will of course be provided during your stay.
The land
Our land is 43.000 m² and is partly wooded. We want to be able to produce most of our own fruit and vegetables. This will be a work of many years of course. We started this project in the winter of 2024-2025 and already planted more than 50 fruit and nut trees. In the spring of 2025 we will begin our vegetable garden and after the summer we will start to build a greenhouse from recycled materials. Expect to get served delicious vegan meals, made with ingredients straight from the land. If we get a good harvest, you will even be able to buy fruit and vegetables here. Of course there are also places to relax, enjoy the quiet and watch the birds. Dogs can run free in a gated part of the garden. Want to cool down during the warmer months? By foot you can easily reach multiple little waterfalls to enjoy in all privacy.
The surroundings
The house is located next to a CAI-walking route so this is the ideal place to start a hike. There are a number of waterfalls on the road that takes you to the b&b. In summer you can enjoy a refreshing dip here. We would love to show you more hidden water places next to our domain where you can explore the river with more privacy. The nearby Mercatello sul Metauro is one of the ‘borghi più belli d’italia’ and the next town, Sant’ Angelo in Vado has a charming medieval centre. If you want to enjoy authentic Italy, without mass tourism or a lot of pollution, this area of the Marche is definitely a great choice!
